music video conventions

Music videos follow certain conventions. Some of these are the shot types; pace of video; costumes within the video, settings; and the movements and gestures that the actors/actresses/singers use.
The conventions should really match the genre of music, lyrics and the meaning of behind the song. One of the conventions that should match the lyrics and meaning behind the song is the pace of the video. The pace should relate to the lyrics or meaning in order for the audience when watching the video feel connected, if the pace of the video contrasts the pace of the song the video and song will have no relation in turn will then make the audience feel that the music video is irrelevant.
